In 2022 I applied for an open seat on Columbus’ City Council: https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/local/2022/12/10/a-total-of-27-people-applied-to-fill-the-columbus-city-council-vacancy/69716548007/ I was one of 27 people applying for a seat vacated prior to the term being completed. I was honored to be one of eight finalist https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/local/2022/12/22/columbus-city-council-announces-8-finalists-for-vacancy-sets-hearing/69749636007/ to be considered for the vacant City of Columbus council seat.
In the end I didn’t make it to filling that seat…but, I did raise my hand. If nothing more when I am no longer living on this Earth no one can say I never tried, never raised my hand, never believed I couldn’t attempt make a difference.
I have no desire to run for office; but I’ll always have a desire to be a serve–a desire to attempt to make a difference
