Last evening I had a conversation, a 2 hour and 46 minute conversation, about race theory and notions of success. In the end the question left was:
How do you define success as a black man?
Now it may seem a simple question but the theory part of it is what complicates the question. The real question is what is success as a (insert non-white race here) person? The argument is we are unable to state success in a non-white way because we have been subjugated by the beliefs of a western European model of success for all these years…
