Many New Year’s resolutions are flawed from the start, destined to fail–I haven’t made one since 2000.

People resolve to lose 20 pounds (not me) or stop eating junk food (bring it on) or stop smoking or keep a spotless house (never). The resolutions are too enormous, the behaviors too ingrained, the thinking too negative.
