The Internet is a buzz as Amazon demonstrated an R&D project called Amazon Prime Air. I know, you’re thinking: it is not April so what’s with the joke…well, the folks at Amazon assure that this is NO joke.

“The goal of this new delivery system is to get packages into customers’ hands in 30 minutes or less using unmanned aerial vehicles” as reported from Amazon’s own site.

The method of delivery is a ground to air drone that seems to drop the package off–right at your doorstep?

Amazon notes that “putting Prime Air into commercial use will take some number of years” as they work to “advance the technology and wait for the necessary FAA rules and regulations.”
